Daniel Sanchez Balderas Sr
Daniel Sanchez Balderas Sr. (1931–2017)

“Tio Dan”

Dan began his food service career at Kelly Air Force Base in San Antonio, Texas, but his dream was always to own a restaurant. He first started by selling tacos from the trunk of his car in Round Rock, and in 1987, he brought that dream to life by opening Ole’ Taco—what is now known as Tio Dan Puffy Tacos.

Over the years, he expanded with Little Red Wagon and Pacific Gulf Sea Island Fish Fry, building a family of restaurants that reflected his passion for food and community. Through hard work, perseverance, and determination, Dan became a true icon in Round Rock. His legacy lives on in every dish we serve and in the community he loved.
